Giving someone the benefit of the doubt

It says in Pirkei Avot, Yehoshua ben Parachyah says: …Judge everyone favorably.

How important is it to you to judge people favorably? If you're not sure, try it out and how does that person react to you. These are the amazing interactions we can have with one another if attempt this.

Do you have any experiences to share which can help us understand how we can do this?

Be on the lookout for a new way of sharing your thoughts later this week.

Well if you give someone the benefit of the doubt, you're basically trusting them. Like, when I let my friend borrow my shirt, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it would be returned to me as I lent it to them. It was, and now I know that I can trust that person when it comes to borrowing things.

Judging people fairly is one of the most important things once could do. If you "Judge a Book By Its Cover", then you are not seeing into the true intentions of that individual. That itself is not a very righteous thing to do. Foe Example, I will tell you an experience I had with someone. Lets name this person Bob, for security reasons. When I was young, there was a Mentally Challenged person named Bob. I made fun of him and did bad things to him. But when I got older, I realized that Bob was actually a very nice person, and did not derserve the treatment I gave him. After this incident, I realized how important it was not to judge a person by their cover.

i think that giving someone the benefit of the dout means if someone really doesnt know or if its their 1st time doing something, and id they make a mistake, you shoulnt go so hars on them.
